Rose Marie Sardo

Rose Marie Sardo is a partner in the firm and her practice is concentrated in personal injury cases, worker’s compensation cases, real estate matters, tenancy law, municipal court matters, property damage, and commercial transactions.

Ms. Sardo graduated from Rutgers University in 1975 with a B.A. in Political Science. She then graduated from Rutgers University School of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree in 1978. She commenced her legal practice with the Law Firm of Horowitz, Bross & Sinins where she handled personal injury, property damage, and collections cases on behalf of plaintiffs. She then became an associate with the Law Firm of Morgan, Melhuish, Monahan & Spielvogel where she represented employers in the defense of workers’ compensation claims. Ms. Sardo continued her practice as a senior trial attorney with the Law Firm of Farabaugh, Frieland, Giles & Smith, where she handled a varied caseload of defense litigation for Travelers Insurance Company, including personal injury, workers’ compensation, commercial and products liability litigation.

Ms. Sardo has tried cases for plaintiffs, as a defense attorney and as house counsel for Travelers Insurance Company. In 1989 she opened up her own private practice where she handled all types of cases as outlined above. In 2003, A.J. Batista became a partner and the Firm became known as Sardo & Batista, PC.

Ms. Sardo is admitted to the New York, New Jersey, United States District Court and United States Supreme Court Bars. She has served on the advisory board for Broad National Bank and for Independence Community Bank. She has been a Mayor’s Commissioner on the Status of Women for the City of Newark. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
